Our team tackled an aging, cracking modified bitumen roof and a failing chimney crown. We carefully dismantled the failing masonry chimney below the roof line and patched the opening with new deck boards. After removing the old roof down to the substrate, we installed 1/2" mechanically fastened ISO cover board. We then fully adhered a seamless 60-mil Mule-Hide EPDM rubber membrane using custom 26-gauge coated steel aprons along all edges and pitched roof transitions. We finished by installing new rubber stack boots with water stop mastic, detaching and resetting the existing gutters with proper straps and screws, and re-securing the original gutter guards. The home is now fully weather-sealed, streamlined, and leak-free.
Addressing multi-layer removal across a historic home guided this project on East Bradford Avenue in Milwaukee. Our crew stripped two layers of existing material—including asbestos shingles and old cedar shakes—down to the deck structure, laying a CertainTeed Landmark shingle system in Burnt Sienna protected by synthetic underlayment, six feet of eave ice and water shield, brown W-valleys, brown drip edges, and brown gutter aprons. Detailed flashing work included custom copper front porch sawtooth flashing, 26-gauge steel reglet-cut chimney counter-flashing, lead stack boots, a Zipper electrical mast boot, six slant-back box vents, and low-slope SBS Flintlastic modified bitumen over the eyebrow dormers with prepped stucco integration. Another historic Milwaukee residence fully protected, watertight, and expertly preserved!
Our team addressed significant deck gaps and moisture concerns with a comprehensive dual-structure project. We began by removing the existing asphalt roofing from both the house and the detached garage. We then applied 7/16" OSB re-decking over the original roof boards to create a solid foundation and ensure full warranty compliance. For the shingle system, we installed CertainTeed Landmark in Resawn Shake, supported by 6 feet of ice and water shield on heated eave edges, synthetic underlayment, and brown pre-finished steel W-valleys. Our metalwork included white aluminum drip edges, new plumbing stack flashings, Broan-style anti-draft-back vents, and a 26-gauge steel chimney flashing with a continuous reglet-cut finish in brown. The project successfully updated, reinforced, and weather-sealed the structures.
Tearing off a single layer of aging asphalt down to the roof boards prepared this steep-pitch residence for a complete weatherproofing upgrade in Milwaukee! Our crew installed 7/16" OSB re-decking before laying a CertainTeed Landmark PRO shingle system in Max Def Red Oak, backed by six feet of ice and water shield along heated eaves, synthetic underlayment, and pre-finished brown W-style metal valleys. Specialty craftsmanship included mimicking historic sawtooth step flashing along the front wall facade while applying straight reglet-cut steel counter-flashing on the sides and back, installing an oversized chimney flashing with a custom cricket, fabricating a metal pan transition area, and re-flashing around the existing skylight. We completed the job by updating lead pipe stack boots, adding a Broan bath vent, setting up a ridge vent system to match the existing attic airflow, and reattaching the original gutters with new heavy-duty aluminum fascia brackets and screws.
Our team successfully completed a comprehensive roof overhaul, starting with the removal of two layers of aged asphalt shingles. We installed 7/16" OSB re-decking over the original tongue-and-groove boards, ensuring full manufacturer warranty compliance. We then applied a CertainTeed NorthGate Class 4 impact-resistant shingle system, protected by 6 feet of WinterGuard ice and water shield. Additional features included synthetic underlayment, pre-finished steel W-valleys, aluminum drip edges, and gutter aprons. Our complete penetration detailing involved new step and wall flashings, plumbing stack flashings, and custom vents. The project concluded with a full water management upgrade, featuring new 6" seamless aluminum gutters and matching downspouts.
Our team addressed localized storm damage, ensuring every affected section was restored. We removed loose shingles to inspect the decking and underlayment, replacing any compromised materials. Prepping the substrate with new underlayment, we installed CertainTeed Landmark PRO field shingles in Evergreen, matching the existing roofing patterns. Ridge cap shingles were added to seal the ridge line, ensuring complete water-shedding protection. The home is now weather-sealed and fully restored.
Our team executed a comprehensive re-decking project, starting with the complete removal of the existing asphalt layer down to the roof boards. We installed a robust 7/16" OSB re-decking layer to ensure compliance with manufacturer warranties. We then applied a CertainTeed Landmark PRO Max Def Class 3 Impact-Resistant shingle system in Georgetown Gray, protected by ice and water shield extending 6 feet up the eaves and around all roof penetrations. Additional features included white drip edges, gutter aprons, gray metal valleys, new step and wall flashings, lead pipe stack flashings, custom 26-gauge reglet-cut steel chimney counter-flashing, and a ventilation setup with edge intake vents and a louvered ridge vent.
Our crew stripped away the original siding layer down to the sheathing, installing Kingspan Raindrop weather-resistant housewrap with Tyvek tape to form a continuous moisture barrier. We then installed LP SmartSide 38 Series Cedar Texture Lap Siding in ExpertFinish Modern Gray, accented by LP SmartSide 540 Series smooth trim boards around all transitions and openings. Complete with Z-flashing, head flashings, and high-quality OSI Quad sealant around all trim intersections, this targeted elevation is fully weather-sealed and built to match the home's existing aesthetic!
For this project in Milwaukee, we stripped old cedar shingles from the front facade, inspected the wall sheathing, and applied a weather-resistant barrier. We then installed treated Grade #1 cedar shingles to match existing trim. On the roof, we removed the old skylight, prepped the area with new underlayment and ice & water shield, and installed a Velux manual venting skylight with an integrated flashing kit and matching shingles. The result is enhanced weather protection and fresh indoor daylight.
Our team meticulously upgraded the flat roofing system on a detached garage. We removed the old single-layer flat roofing down to the structure, installed Firestone ISOGARD HD high-density cover board, and re-pitched the slope for optimal water flow. We adhered a 60-mil EPDM rubber membrane over the new substrate, sealing all edges with termination bars, uncured rubber, and EPDM cover tape. To improve drainage, we crafted a custom collection box with new 3x4 downspouts and added a French drain gutter guard. The garage is now fully weather-sealed and equipped for reliable runoff control!
Great group of men & communication throughout;
My entire experience with your team was great from sales to the installation crew.
I feel fortunate to have discovered Community Roofing! Above all they are a trustworthy team and gave me a great price on a new roof and gutters. I have a very tall, steep roof and many places want to up charge for that. Community Roofers were trustworthy from the quote to the finished work.
Excellent service
